Monday Morning Inspiration: Children's Book Activities

Hi, Teaching Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! It's time again for your weekly inspiration, where you can find a project to easily prepare for your new school year!

This week's theme is activities to support and extend your favorite children's books. I've seen so many amazing ideas on Pinterest and in blogs. In fact, there are whole blogs devoted to children's books! Have you read Shawna Devoe's The Picture Book Teacher's Edition or Carolyn Wilhelm's Book-a-Day posts at the Wise Owl Factory? Check them out... and if you know of others, please leave a comment to share them!

  1. I added my link because although the original post is about using the book The Three Question by John Muth with my grade 6 class, the book itself is appropriate for use with a wide range of ages. I hope you stop by and check out the beautiful illustrations in the book. It is also perfect for back to school time. The message is timeless.

    1. Congratulations on your newest book, Loreen! The fairytale/nutrition connection sounds like a great way to incorporate some cross-curricular teaching. How lucky are we to have an author who creates her own curriculum connections for teachers!!
