Learning to count money is really tough! It's a good thing that learning to use money is the ultimate motivation for lots of kids!
Life was a lot simpler (for our students and for us!) when nickels were nickels and quarters were quarters. I think you know what I mean - as fascinating as the states quarters and nickels are to our kiddos, they just add to the confusion for our strugglers!
