Pinteresting Friday!

Hi, Teaching Friends!

Before I share some favorite pins from this week, I'd like to ask... are you following me in Pinterest?
As of this moment, I have 1,998 followers. Yay! Who wants to be #2,000?

This week's favorites...

Who wants to be up at 1 a.m. during the first week of school, typing up a form you forgot to prep? This lady's got them all ready for you! First Grade W.O.W. is an awesome blog, by the way!

Easy prep and a fun game, too! From Little Miss Primary, at Teaching Blog Roundup.

Here's a parent letter to provide alternatives to the usual, "Sound it out". The link at Pinterest is now broken (grrr....), but I tracked it down, so just click the picture.

Happy Teaching!

  3. I give my parents alternatives to "sound it out" too. I don't even use those words in my classroom. :)

    1. I kept those words out of my classroom, too, Tammy. Although using phonics knowledge is important, the use of "sound it out" discourages the use of a balanced cueing system!
